Stefanie is the co-founder and Executive Director of Elevate Community School. With over 15 years of experience in community-based work, she brings a unique blend of education, advocacy, and real-world connection to her leadership. Her background bridges classical education, cross-cultural teaching, and sustainable food systems, all of which inform Elevate’s holistic and learner-centered approach. Stefanie holds a degree in Classics from the College of Charleston and a Master’s in Teaching with a focus on cross-cultural learning.

Stefanie began her career in public education, where she launched an innovative Literacy Through Latin program for students in a Title I school. She went on to lead community initiatives in sustainable agriculture and food innovation before returning to her deepest passion: reimagining education for the whole child. In 2020, she teamed up with longtime friend and educator Adrienne Day to found Elevate Community School, creating a nurturing and inclusive space that honors children's individuality and their innate desire to explore and grow.

At Elevate, Stefanie leads with warmth, creativity, and a deep commitment to making education joyful, accessible, and impactful. She is especially passionate about outdoor learning, social-emotional development, and helping families feel seen and supported throughout their child’s journey.

Stefanie lives in Charleston with her husband and their two sons, who are proud Elevate students. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outside, traveling, and finding beauty in the small things.
