Lacey Reeves Bio

Lacey is entering her third year working with the Elevate community and brings a deep passion for literacy and student support to her role as Reading Interventionist. Before entering the world of Orton-Gillingham, she worked for several years at MUSC Children’s Hospital as a Certified Child Life Specialist, where she supported children and families through challenging medical experiences.

She holds a Master’s degree in Child Life from the College of Charleston, with a strong foundation in child development, education, therapeutic play, and family support. This background continues to shape her approach to helping students build confidence and resilience in the face of academic challenges.

Lacey is certified at the associate level through the Orton-Gillingham Academy of Charleston and follows the Orton-Gillingham methodology closely in her reading intervention work. She brings this structured, evidence-based approach to life with creative games and hands-on sensory activities designed to keep students engaged and motivated.

Her calm presence, thoughtful instruction, and genuine love for helping children grow make her a valued part of the Elevate team.
