Joy is a certified Montessori teacher with a deep commitment to nurturing both the academic and personal growth of adolescents and young adults. With several years of classroom experience, she brings a thoughtful, student-centered approach to her work at Elevate Community School. Joy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, equipping her with the tools to support a wide range of learners in meaningful, developmentally appropriate ways.

She believes that true learning happens when students feel emotionally and physically grounded. Her approach to mentorship reflects this belief, blending academic guidance with social-emotional support to help each student grow in confidence, curiosity, and self-awareness. Joy excels at building lasting, authentic connections and is deeply fulfilled by walking alongside young people as they navigate both challenges and triumphs.

Outside the classroom, Joy enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, and spending time outdoors with her husband, especially when the sun is shining.
